I love being part of this village, it is just the most quintessentially English village I know, we have chocolate box cottages, local legends, Duck racing and a village sports day. This annual village sports day – thought to be oldest show in the county- features adults’ and children’s races, Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling, donkey rides and traditional sideshows such as welly throwing, coconut shy and fancy dress – what more can you want!
This year the weather wasn’t on our side, but of course that doesn’t dampen the spirits of any northerner! We just crack on and enjoy the day.
